Knowledge After completing the programme, the student shall have knowledge about/in: - Specialised knowledge of fibre and opto technology: the material's properties, areas of use and function. - Knowledge and an overview of adjacent competence areas, such as electrical theory, copper networks and network connections. - Knowledge of work processes and quality criteria in the field, such as installation, laying and maintenance of fibre optic networks, good familiarity with preventive safety work, quality inspections and measurements. Skills After completing the programme, the student shall have skills in: - Planning, carrying out and identifying resources to perform specialised tasks, such as carrying out performance measurements and troubleshooting and finding relevant remedies. - Solving complex problems in the installation, laying and maintenance of fibre technology systems. - Communicating commitments and solutions in English and Swedish, including technical terms and specialist language. Competences After completing the programme, the student shall have the competence to: - Work independently with laying, installation and maintenance of fibre optic networks in a way that leads to further learning and professional development. - Oversee the work as a fibre technician, for example by quality-assuring routines and working methods, and complete undertaken projects in the field of fibre technology.
