What language are these project management courses taught in?

One of these courses records English as its teaching language, and it is listed below. The catalog records a teaching language for 65 of them, and 64 of those are Swedish.

The other 75 record no language at all, so the course page, and then the provider, is where to settle it. Among the courses that do say, Swedish is the more common teaching language.

This is the first thing to settle and the last thing most course listings tell you. A Swedish provider writing for a Swedish market has no reason to mention the language, so the course pages themselves rarely say it out loud. The counts above are what the catalog holds, including how much of it holds nothing.

Swedish is not always a wall, and it is worth knowing why before you rule the list out. Project management vocabulary in Sweden is largely borrowed: agil, scrum, produktägare, förändringsledning. The standards, the tooling and much of the reading in a Swedish project management class are already in English, because that is the language the field publishes in. What is Swedish is the room. If you follow technical English and can sit in a Swedish-speaking seminar, more of this list is open to you than the language field suggests.

If that is not the trade you want to make, the English-taught count above is a floor rather than an estimate. It requires two independent signals to agree: the provider declared English, and the provider wrote their own course description in English. It comes from TUC Yrkeshögskola.

Why is project management a topic here and not a category?

Because it does not sit in one place. True Upskill sorts courses into 16 categories, and the 140 project management courses are scattered across every one of them. This page is a query across the shelves rather than another shelf.

111 of them also appear on the Leadership page, 66 on IT & Tech and 64 on Vocational.

A category is a slot. It answers "where did we file this?" and it is written in Swedish first, because the catalog is a Swedish product. A topic answers the question someone actually typed. Nobody searching in English types "leadership, IT and tech, and vocational training" when they want to learn to run a project. This page is that gap, closed.

The practical consequence is that the list below crosses boundaries the category pages cannot. A construction site manager course and an agile testing course are both project management, and they live on different category pages.

Who issues project management courses in Sweden?

25 providers in the catalog run at least one. The largest are TUC Yrkeshögskola (55 courses), Lexicon IT-Proffs AB (23) and Astrakan (17).

The mix matters when you are choosing. A vocational college (yrkeshögskola) runs a one to two year programme built with employers and includes a mandatory workplace placement, and it is eligible for Swedish student finance. A commercial training company runs two days on a specific method and hands you a certificate at the end. Both appear on this page, and the duration on each course card is the fastest way to tell them apart.

What does a verified project management certificate actually prove?

That the provider named on it issued it to the person named on it, and that this can be confirmed without phoning anyone. Every credential in this catalog is issued through TRUE, so an employer follows the certificate back to its issuer and sees for themselves.

It does not prove the course was any good, and no verification layer can. What it removes is the other problem: a certificate on a CV that nobody ever checks, from a course that may not have happened. Across the project management courses listed here, 6,799 certificates have been issued, and each is verifiable at the source.

Recognition is a separate question from verification, and worth keeping separate. A Swedish YH diploma is recognised by Swedish employers because the qualification is state regulated. Whether it carries the same weight in another country depends on that country, and no certificate can settle it on its own.

There are nearly 40 million project professionals worldwide today, and by 2035, the talent gap could reach up to 30 million more.

Where these numbers come from.

  • Project Management Institute, Global Project Management Talent Gap (2025) PMI puts the profession at almost 40 million people in 2025 and projects demand of up to 65 million by 2035, a shortfall of as many as 29.8 million. For Europe it gives a 2025 market of 9.0 million and a gap of 2.9 to 3.5 million by 2035.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about project management.

Are project management courses in Sweden taught in English?
True Upskill lists 140 project management courses and records a teaching language for 65 of them, of which 64 are Swedish. One is recorded as taught in English. The other 75 record no language at all, so the course page, and then the provider, is where to settle it. It comes from TUC Yrkeshögskola.
Do I need to speak Swedish to take a project management course in Sweden?
For any course recorded as taught in Swedish, yes, at least well enough to follow a seminar and ask questions. Much of the course material and nearly all of the underlying standards are in English, so reading is rarely the obstacle. The classroom is. Where the catalog records no language at all, the provider is the only reliable answer.
What is a YH diploma in project management?
Yrkeshögskolan is Sweden’s state regulated higher vocational education. A YH programme is built together with employers, runs one to two years, includes a mandatory workplace placement (LIA) and is eligible for Swedish student finance (CSN). It leads to a diploma recognised by the industry, not only by the school that issued it.
Can an employer check that a project management certificate is genuine?
Yes. Every certificate in this catalog is issued through TRUE and is authenticity-verified and blockchain-secured, so an employer can confirm it directly with the issuing provider instead of trusting a PDF.
