UX stands for User Experience and is a concept from the design world. It is about creating good user experiences by understanding and solving digital hassle, a task that requires a new kind of creativity where words, design and function work together. The dedicated UX Writer works in a team with designers and developers, among others, but everyone who works with text benefits from UX thinking. When you start from the user's needs and challenges, you can write more functional texts, improve conversion and evaluate the effect of what you write. During this course you explore ways of working, methods and tools for writing in a more user-centered way. We go through how working on the texts is part of the design process and how you can write clear microcopy for instructions, error messages and button texts, among other things. We also look at tone of voice, clarity and how small word choices can make a big difference for both usability and business results. You also explore different ways of sketching and developing texts, including with the support of generative AI, to quickly produce and compare wordings with different tones and purposes. After the course you will have an overview of ways of working, methods and tools in UX Writing that help you write texts that guide users through digital services.
The course is aimed at you if you work as a web editor, communicator, writer or copywriter, or are otherwise responsible for content on a website. If you are a professional UX designer, the course gives you greater competence in copy, although parts of the course that concern design processes and tools may be at a basic level for this professional role. The course is taught in Swedish.
