When a crisis breaks out, time is in short supply. Many different parts need to be put in place and coordinated quickly, such as continuously analyzing the situation and communicating with a long list of target audiences, both internally and externally. With the right knowledge and tools you can focus on the right things and maintain trust through the storm.
Crises can be small or large and can affect a single organization, parts of society or all of it. When a crisis strikes, you and your colleagues are put to the test. With slow, unclear or even incorrect communication, trust in you and your organization can plummet. With good, precise and insightful communication, on the other hand, there is an opportunity to strengthen your reputation and come out of the crisis in a better position than before. In this course we go through the parts that create a stable and secure whole in crisis communication work. You will get tools, insights and ways of working that help you structure the work and create good communication when it is needed most. The goal is that after completing the course you will be able to act with confidence in a crisis and guide your organization to the other side of the storm, with trust in the organization you represent or work in maintained or strengthened.
You already work as a senior communicator, perhaps as a press officer or head of communications. You want to strengthen your ability to work methodically and analytically in a crisis and to involve more people in your organization in the crisis work. Or you are someone who often acts as a spokesperson in a specific subject area (for example CEO, politician or researcher) and want to strengthen your ability to understand the context you operate in, get your messages through and communicate with greater trust in particularly difficult and demanding situations.
When you complete the course, Berghs School of Communication issues your certificate. Your name, the course content and the issue date are encrypted and secured on blockchain, so it cannot be changed, and anyone can check that it is genuine.
