About the course.

Being on social media is a given for most companies and organizations, but knowing how to communicate to achieve an effect can be a challenge. In this course you learn to work strategically with content, use the channels tactically and plan marketing communication on social media effectively. All with the brand in focus.

During the decade that social media has been in the spotlight, companies and organizations have chosen to see social media as a complement to their regular communication. This has meant that brands have missed opportunities and also lost value by not working strategically and consistently with their social channels and their presence. A brand on social media faces new challenges and must earn its followers, ambassadors and community. It is one thing to use social media, and another to be a social brand and do it effectively. A further challenge many companies face in their communication strategy: going from using social media as a complement to exploiting its full potential as a brand builder. That is the starting point for the course Building a Brand on Social Media. The focus is on the brand and effective brand communication on social media. Among other things, we take deep dives into the brand and the target audience in a digital reality, the strategic possibilities of the channels, how content works on social media and how you can implement it in practice in the company's communication strategy. We also look at planning and smart tactical solutions, and of course incorporate AI in both measurement and production. The three days of the course are divided into strategy, tactics and implementation. Theory alternates with more practical exercises. Throughout the course, you work with other participants on the task of creating a strategic plan and a tactical framework for a (fictional) brand.
